1. Who we are

TaxTrack 1099 is owned and operated by Frank Chandler, who acts as the data controller for the personal information described in this policy. This means Frank Chandler determines why and how your personal data is processed and is responsible for responding to your privacy requests.

2. Information we collect

We collect only what is needed to operate the Service:

  • Account information: full name, email address, and the date your account was created.
  • Tax profile: state, filing status, income type and pay schedule.
  • Financial records you enter: income payments, client or company names, business expenses, receipt files and tax savings entries.
  • Billing information: plan, subscription status and billing history. Card details are collected and processed directly by Paddle, our Merchant of Record, and are never stored by us.
  • Technical information: basic logs needed for security and reliability.

3. How we use information and legal basis

We use your information to generate tax estimates, display your dashboard and reports, provide customer support, process purchases and subscriptions, and keep accounts secure. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your financial records for advertising.

Our legal bases for processing are: performance of our contract with you (operating your account, generating estimates and reports, billing), our legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, product improvement, analytics), your consent where required (optional communications), and compliance with legal obligations (tax, accounting and billing record retention).

4. Access controls

Your records are stored with per-user access rules enforced at the database level. Other users cannot read your income, expense, savings or receipt data. Administrators can access account-level information such as profile details and subscription status in order to operate the Service and provide support.

5. Receipt files

Receipt uploads are stored in a private file area scoped to your account. Files are retrievable only through short-lived links generated for your own signed-in session.

6. Data retention

We retain your records for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your profile, income, expense, savings and receipt data are deleted. We may retain limited billing records where required for legal, accounting or tax purposes.

7. Data sharing and service providers

We use a small number of processors to host the application, store data and deliver authentication emails. Each processor receives only the information required for its function. We may also share limited data with professional advisers and with authorities where required by law.

Paddle.com acts as our Merchant of Record for all orders. When you buy a plan, Paddle collects and processes your payment information directly to complete the sale, manage subscriptions, handle tax compliance and invoicing, and process refunds. Paddle's handling of your data is described in Paddle's privacy policy at paddle.com.

8. Your choices

You can view and edit your profile at any time, export your records to CSV or PDF, change or cancel your plan, and request deletion of your account. Email-based password reset and email verification are available from the sign-in screen.

9. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their information.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Service changes. Material changes will be communicated in the application before they take effect.

11. Contact

Privacy questions and deletion requests can be sent to the support address listed inside your account.
